Dark Cloud

More than 1,000 younger people with disability are still living in residential aged care.

The brief centres on host and homeshare arrangements.

In these arrangements, a person living with disability shares a home with a host or housemate who offers companionship and some everyday support, as an alternative to traditional group homes. The model is well established overseas, where almost 10,000 people are supported in similar arrangements in the UK. In Australia, less than 500 such arrangements are said to exist.

Silver Lining | Open Up

Melbourne B Corp agencies Good&Proper and Silver Lining have been challenged by the Summer Foundation to come up with an idea that will encourage more Australians to consider living in a mutually supportive homeshare arrangement with a person with a disability.

The brief: to get more Australians to open their hearts, minds and spare rooms to a homeshare arrangement with a person with a disability.

Can altruism alone solve this problem?

Or, can it be solved with something fundamentally more primal, inherently built within us all.

Our need, for human connection.
