Silver Lining awarded Good Design Award
Silver Lining Agency (B corp) has been recognised at the International Good Design Awards for Excellence in Product Design for Bank Australia x Parley for the Oceans™ recycled bank cards.
Bank Australia partnered with Parley for the Oceans™ to launch a new bank card made from 100% recycled plastic. The suite of cards are made from 100% recycled plastic* (rPET), with 64% collected from coastal communities.
After a year in development and twelve prototypes later, it has been a labour of love. The heart of the design features a transparent Bank Australia 'open book' logo, which showcases the bank's commitment to transparency, as outlined in its Responsible Banking Policy.
Rachel Wye, Managing Director of Good Design Australia, reflects on the calibre of this year’s entries: “The standard of Award Winners in this year’s Australian Good Design Awards was the highest on record, with game-changing projects that push the envelope of good design, design innovation and design impact. These Awards clearly demonstrate the transformational power of design to create a better and more sustainable future.”
Jury Comments:
“Strong manifestation of the brand commitment to sustainability, transparency and accessibility. The jury feels it moves the industry forward, setting a new benchmark for how brands’ values can be communicated. An outstanding contribution to good design.”
